Under direct supervision of the Animal Control Supervisor, cleans and disinfects cages and shelter, feeds
Cares for animal
Assists shelter customers in redeeming or adopting pets
Handles complaints received at the shelter. Assists in euthanizing animals
May work with limited supervision
Must be 18 years of age at time of employment
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver’s License and credible driving record
Skills in public relations, animal handling and care of animals Knowledge of animal behavior, species and breed identification, disease recognition, record keeping, and proper use of disinfectants
Ability to operate various equipment including bird dispersal, control and restraint and radio/audio equipment
Ability to handle irate customers, euthanize animals, control aggressive and heavy animals and manage stress Intermediate level of work Reactive communications/interactions
