The purpose of the class is to service gas utilities. The class is responsible for installation and maintenance of gas appliances, meter repair, disconnecting and connecting service, safety inspections, and maintaining logs and records. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. Requires a high school diploma or GED. Basic knowledge of appliance repairs, electrical work, plumbing or a closely related field preferred. Previous work experience and training is helpful but not required. Must be able to obtain a Class A CDL permit within 6 months of employment. Must obtain Class A CDL within one year of employment. Complete and maintain all required OQ certifications (continuing education) and all other all certifications as required by applicable federal, state and local regulations. Special skills or equipment certification may be required. This position requires participation in Gas Department random drug testing program. In addition, is subject to Federal Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations. This position requires the employee reside within a 20-mile radius of the City limits of Leesburg.

Pay: $23.78 - $34.50 per hour
