The City of Lenexa police department is currently accepting applications for a Developer to work with our Police Systems. Position Summary
This civilian position is involved in the detailed design, development, documentation and implementation of new programs and maintenance of existing programs on client/server systems, networks and personal computers, as well as the facilitation and integration of systems and applications in support of information requirements within the organization. The position requires a high degree of sophistication of interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to accuracy and an unwavering dedication to the quality of the final products designed and implemented. Work is performed with latitude for the exercise of independent judgement and action to achieve and promote the City's values of integrity, teamwork, service, vision, dedication and we care.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Resolve complex technical issues, conduct research and drive innovation.
- Translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Gather requirements, define project scope and address system constraints.
- Design, develop and maintain the internal web portal and databases, including access, modifications and maintenance plans.
- Perform system integration and data migration tasks. Maintain system architecture, design specs and user manuals.
Physical and Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office environment; however, mobility to work at other computer stations located throughout the City is required. This is physically sedentary work requiring the ability to sit for prolonged periods and visually acuity to alphanumeric data.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor's degree computer science or related field and 1-2 year's experience in programming.
Compensation and Benefits:
Rate of pay to $31.65 to $36.69 per hour based on previous experience. The City of Lenexa offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
