The City of Lenexa is now hiring Seasonal Pool Cashiers for summer 2025 within the Parks and Recreation Department. Build valuable customer service and teamwork skills while serving the community at one of our two outdoor pool facilities:
- Flat Rock Creek: 13120 W. 103rd St.
- Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center: 8801 Greenway Ln
Schedule:
- We offer flexible scheduling with daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Pools operate Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
- Staff handle opening/closing duties, front desk, cleaning tasks, and concession operations for the entire season.
- Pre-season training begins in early May.
- Attendance at mandatory training sessions is required.
Position Summary:
Pool Cashiers provide excellent customer service by greeting patrons, managing pool admissions, and handling concession stand operations. Responsibilities include:
- Collecting fees, operating a cash register, and making change.
- Preparing and serving food and beverages.
- Answering phones and maintaining a clean, organized facility.
- Safely handling food items and supplies.
- Cleaning and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum:
- Must be at least 14 years old.
- Able to work an average of 10 hours per week.
- Preferred:
- Cash-handling experience; familiarity with cash registers, food prep, and food safety certifications.
Starting rate of pay is $12.00 per hour.
Offers of employment are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screen. A background check is required for applicants aged 18 and older.
