What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Inspector position at City of Lewes?
The Building Inspector reports to the Building Official and interprets and applies City building, zoning, and property maintenance codes; assists with administration of the National Flood Insurance Program requirements; reviews building plans for compliance with all applicable codes, and performs inspections on construction projects.
Minimum requirements include technical training in the areas of building construction and inspections plus two (2) years of residential/commercial construction inspection experience. The ideal candidate has certification under the International Code Council in residential and/or commercial construction.
