Position Summary
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $52,391.52-$58,424.48, which represents the hiring range for new employees based on factors such as education, experience, certifications, and licenses. The full salary range extends up to $74,618.22, providing opportunities for salary growth as employees gain experience, develop skills, and demonstrate strong performance over time.
As a new hire, you'll receive a $2,500 hiring incentive, paid in a lump sum with your first full paycheck after joining our team.
Position Summary: Organizes, assigns, and monitors the daily activities of crew members in the maintenance of our water and sanitary sewer system.
Essential Functions
- Organizes assignments, solves on-the-job problems, ensure that repairs are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
- Coordinates, assigns and monitors/checks work assignments and tasks to crew members.
- Monitors crew members day-to-day activities. Conducts performance reviews and evaluations for each member.
- Must possess and exhibit the skills necessary to operate assigned tools and equipment in a safe and proper manner.
- Ensures all construction and safety equipment is kept in good working order.
- Determines and secures tools, equipment and materials needed to complete assigned work tasks. Ensures that proper signs, barricades, safety equipment, etc. are in use on job site.
- Collects information to complete work orders and other reports as assigned.
- Provides feedback and information to appropriate person regarding status of projects and assigned work, problems and/or other areas of concern.
- Performs process control functions within the water and wastewater systems, to include but not limited to, collecting and analyzing chlorine residuals, proper disinfection of water distribution mains, and analyzing turbidity within the water distribution system.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- 3 years to 5 years of experience in a related field required.
- Any combination of related, education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- Considerable knowledge repairing municipal water and sewer mains.
- Must be knowledgeable of trench/shoring requirements and confined space requirements and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of work zone traffic control.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety practices and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks.
- Ability to be punctual and attend work regularly
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

Other Requirements:
- Must submit and pass a pre-employment drug, pre-placement medical examination and the job placement assessment (JPA).
- Must currently possess a valid State of Texas Class A CDL Driver’s License with a “N” endorsement for tank vehicles.
- Must currently possess a Class “C” (or higher) Water Distribution License from TCEQ OR a Class “II” (or higher) Wastewater Collections License from TCEQ
- Must obtain both a Class “C” (or higher) Water Distribution License from TCEQ and a Class “II” (or higher) Wastewater Collections License from TCEQ within 18 months of hire.
Work Hours
M-Th 06:30 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work on-call after hours, weekends and holidays.
