The full salary range extends up to $121,545.22, providing opportunities for salary growth as employees gain experience, develop skills, and demonstrate strong performance over time.Position Summary : Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, provides leadership for park operations of the Lewisville Parks & Recreation system. Coordinates and directs the work of the park operations team and contractors on the maintenance of parks, trails, medians, ROW's and recreation amenities to meet the vision, goals and objectives established in Lewisville 2025 and the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) Healthy Infrastructure Plan and strategic plans. Provides professional expertise in the care, improvement and maintenance of parks, trails, recreation facilities and the urban tree canopy. Essential Functions Develops, implements and manages activities and operation of the Park Operations division. Coordinates and administers the work of assigned supervisors.Develop, evaluate and update policies and procedures for part, trail, and tree canopy maintenance.Directs Park Supervisors to ensure work and planning schedules follow city policies, procedures, park master plans, and department goals and objectives.Analyzes trends and seeks feed back from team members to make data and value driven decisions.Conduct comprehensive park assessments and ability to utilize information to develop strategic plans for park upgrades and replacements.Manages contracts, agreements and requisitions of service, materials and supplies.Assists in the preparation, execution and monitoring operating budgets for park maintenance and improvement projects.Coordinates and consults with other city departments and agencies such as Corp of Engineers, LISD, TXDOT, NCTCOG, and other municipalities on park maintenance issues and improvement projects.Communicates effectively and courteously with the public, vendors, contractors, customers, board members, and staff, in writing, via the internet, Trello and by phoneLeads smaller park projects, playground replacements, landscape, irrigation systems with the ability to identify tree species and native, low maintenance plant material to be incorporated into the design.Research, complies and presents information and recommendations to Director, Assistant Director, Park Board, City Council, DRC, and public.Responds to and resolves customer complaints in a timely, effective and professional manner.Familiar with CAPRA accreditation and reaccreditation process and able to evaluate, update policies, procedures, and SOPs that directly contribute to the chapters and fundamentals associated with the Park Operations Division.Performs duties of Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in their absence.Performs all other related duties as assigned.
