The City of Lewisville's Parks & Recreation Department is currently seeking Cashiers to be a part of a great team that serves over 100,000 community members. This is a seasonal position from May - September 2025.

For employees returning for a second year, the hourly rate increases to $15.15, with further incremental increases for additional years up to six. Under the direction of the Aquatic Supervisor or Park Supervisor, the seasonal Cashier processes payments from the public for park and recreation services; assists the public by telephone and in person with inquiries regarding park and recreation services. Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Provides information and assistance to aquatics facility visitors.
- Assists in registration, answering phones, filing, and data entry for the purpose of preparing attendance, cash, and other reports.
- Be punctual and attend work regularly working a flexible schedule, working days, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with team members and facility guests.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
- 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
- 1 year of cashier experience preferred.
Any combination of related, education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job is an acceptable substitute for the above specified education and experience requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of basic math calculations and handling a cash register.
Ability to:
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety practices and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks.
- Ability to be punctual and attend work regularly working a flexible schedule, working days, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with team members and facility guests.
Preferences:
- Preference may be given to applicants with cashiering experience or those possessing current CPR and/or First Aid certifications.
Other Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- May be subject to a basic skills/math skills test.
- Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug test.
- Must hold or be able to obtain CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certificate within 30 days of hire.
- Must hold or be able to obtain First Aid Certificate within 30 days of hire.
Mon-Fri 11am-8pm, Sat 12pm-8pm, Sun 1pm-7pm.
Salary : $16 - $17
