Counselors I and II are responsible for supervising and leading camp/program participants in recreational, social, and enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, sports, nature, music, dance, games, fieldtrips, health and wellness activities. Camp provides opportunities for recreational, and social enrichment to keep kids involved and guide them in their personal growth when school is out. Applicants must be able to adjust to any situation, displaying enthusiasm and patience.
Dates:
- Must be available from June 2nd - August 8th, excluding week of July 4th.
- Counselors must commit to working all weeks betweenJune 9th - August 1st.
Hours:
- Most counselors will be expected to work Monday - Friday, 7am until 3pm.
- There will be an extended care shift available from 12pm - 6pm for select counselors based on registration numbers.
- 35 hours per week.
- Counselors should be prepared and willing to be outside the majority of the camp day.
Minimum Qualifications
Counselor I
- Ability to perform light physical labor in all weather conditions;
- Minimum age of 17; and
- Ability to deal effectively with the public and co‐workers.
Counselor II
- Ability to perform light physical labor in all weather conditions;
- Experience working with children or in a recreational setting;
- Minimum age of 18;
- Valid NC driver's license and good driving record;
- Ability to deal effectively with the public and co-workers; and
- Ability to drive participants in a 15 passenger van.
