Position: Seasonal Dance Instructor
Location: Liberal Recreation Department
Employment Type: Temporary/Seasonal
Reports To: Dance Supervisor
Salary: $10 per Hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Seasonal Dance Instructor to join our team for the summer season. The seasonal instructor will be responsible for assisting the lead instructor during dance classes with students of various ages and skill levels, choreographing routines, and fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Teach dance classes in styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, tap, etc. to students ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
Plan and execute engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
Provide individualized feedback to students to help them improve technique and performance.
Choreograph routines for seasonal showcases, recitals, or performances.
Ensure a safe and supportive class environment, following studio policies and procedures.
Work collaboratively with other instructors, staff, and parents to support student development.
Maintain professionalism and enthusiasm while inspiring students passion for dance.
Assist with studio events, workshops, and seasonal performances as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching dance to children, teens, or adults.
Proficiency in one or more dance styles such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, tap, etc.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods based on students needs and skill levels.
Experience choreographing routines for performances is a plus.
CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
Background check required.
Schedule & Availability:
Seasonal position running from June to August.
Availability for weekday evenings and/or weekends based on class schedule.
Must be available for special events, recitals, and rehearsals as needed.
