Schedule
- 20 hours per week
- Must have open availability as scheduled hours may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
- Seasonal - position is expected to continue through the end of the calendar year
- Proactively support department functions to meet the community’s needs.
- Greet shelter visitors, answer calls, respond to inquiries timely, and schedule adoption appointments.
- Contribute to driving business impact to positively affect community growth, change, and citizen satisfaction.
- Maintain a welcoming and clutter-free animal control lobby.
- Engage proactively and interact with shelter visitors, volunteers, and vendors.
- Schedule and assist in facility visits and tours, including weekends and holidays.
- Regularly share opinions and ideas, and actively participate in department functions and team meetings.
- Post available pets on various adoption sites.
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure quality municipal services for our citizens.
- Professional written and verbal communication standards.
- Respond to requests and inquiries from customers/citizens professionally, positively, and helpfully.
- Handle difficult conversations effectively and efficiently
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Maintain mental capacity for satisfactory performance of essential functions, including decision-making, communication, teamwork, and positive customer/citizen interactions.
- No prior experience required. Volunteer shelter experience strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Salary : $15
