The City of Liberty is seeking a dynamic, motivated Personal Trainer to be part of our team at the Liberty Community Center. As a part-time city employee, you'll have the opportunity to inspire and guide community members toward achieving their fitness goals, all while creating personalized and engaging workout plans.
In this role, you’ll provide expert guidance, motivation, and accountability, ensuring safety through adherence to both city and national certification standards. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, you’ll actively engage with participants, creating an encouraging and supportive atmosphere that fosters success. You'll play a key role in enhancing the services we offer and making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of Liberty's citizens.
This flexible position allows you to schedule sessions that work for both you and the client, with pay based on session length (excluding planning and coordination time). If you’re ready to inspire and make a difference, we want to hear from you!
- Maintain client records including attendance, consent forms, and policy agreements. Complete incident reports as required.
- Communicate and coordinate schedules with clients in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the wellness area.
- Conduct fitness consultations and assessments and develop individualized programs that ensure client safety and enhancement of personal fitness goals.
- Assist, monitor and instruct clients by ensuring safe and effective use of gym equipment and weight machines.
- Help motivate clients to achieve their fitness goals while providing appropriate and safe structure.
- Ensure the safety of participants by implementing and monitoring procedures to meet safety guidelines/expectations while also following curriculum as established by certification requirements.
- Set up and take down equipment as needed.
- Contribute to the Health & Wellness Department by providing 4hrs a month of Wellness Coaching or by subbing as a Group Exercise Instructor when the need arises. Applicable pay rates will apply.
- Three months experience in personal training is preferred.
- Dependable, reliable and exhibit exceptional leadership skills and qualities.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must be documented as a certified Personal Trainer through a nationally recognized organization such as: AAAI, ACSM, ACE, AFAA, AEA, AFPA, NASM, or NETA.
- Possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification or obtain within 30 days of hire date.
