Job Description:
City of Life Ministries Inc. is a growing, multicultural ministry in need of a passionate and skilled Worship Leader. We’re searching for a gifted psalmist who values teamwork and understands the importance of leading others into meaningful and heartfelt worship.
Role Summary:
The Worship Leader will serve as the vocal and spiritual leader of our Praise & Worship ministry, working closely with the Director of Worship and leadership team to create power-packed services. The ideal candidate is a team-builder, influencer, and atmosphere-shifter with a deep love for God and a strong understanding of African American church culture and Gospel music.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and set the tone of worship during Sunday services, special events, and weekly rehearsals.
- Draw, lead, and develop praise team members through relationship and spiritual influence.
- Introduce and teach new songs with confidence while balancing traditional and contemporary styles.
- Collaborate with musicians, media, and ministry leaders to ensure excellence and flow in worship.
- Attend all rehearsals and worship services punctually and professionally, including praise team practices, typically held Wednesdays
- Serve with a Christlike attitude and a heart for worship, consistently modeling a positive, encouraging demeanor.
Requirements:
- Strong vocal ability with stage presence and anointing.
- Proven leadership experience in a worship setting (5 years preferred).
- Influential personality – able to inspire, recruit, and retain praise team members.
- Deep understanding of Gospel worship, contemporary Christian music, and African American church traditions.
- Reliable, accountable, and committed to weekly rehearsals (typically Wednesdays), all Sunday services, and special events.
- Must be present and on post in the sanctuary during services unless otherwise assigned.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15,000.00 - $20,000.00 per year
