An opportunity has arisen to work within the Rough Sleeper team at the City of Lincoln Council on a fixed term basis.As a Rough Sleeping Support Officer (Housing First), you will support the council in ensuring rough sleepers maintain accommodation that they are provided with.The post-holder will work with a combination of remote working, visits to properties and office-based working.Please be aware the closing date for applications is 5 : 00pm on Monday 10th March 2025.Key responsibilities :
- Provide a pro-active and dedicated service to those with a history of rough sleeping, in both temporary accommodation and / or once housed, giving timely advice and assistance to encourage and promote license and / or tenancy sustainability.
- To provide a comprehensive welfare benefit take-up service so that tenants are able to meet their housing costs and to ensure that "sign-posting" to other welfare benefits takes place where appropriate.
- To promote improved partnership working to ensure that vulnerable tenants are provided with support, thus enabling them to successfully manage their tenancy whilst remaining independent.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate :
- Experience and working involvement with a range of professionals, within the delivery of various services (mental health, physical health, substance misuse, care, criminal justice, social services, prison).
- Ability to successfully negotiate.
- Prepared to work flexibly including working outside normal office hours e.g. attending evening meetings.
- Working knowledge of rough sleeping working in the voluntary sector and / or in a homeless context with vulnerable people.Benefits we offer :
