Case management is an essential resource for enhancing the effectiveness of our criminal justice system. It is introduced early in the criminal case process, offering defendants the opportunity to be released into the community to serve their sentence. This not only allows them to maintain employment and access rehabilitative services aimed at changing behavior, but also contributes to reducing overcrowding in the Lancaster County Jail.
This role is a key part of community corrections, involving a range of rehabilitation and support strategies to assist clients. The work includes managing a caseload of adult defendants facing felony and misdemeanor charges, while closely monitoring their compliance with court-ordered conditions.
Qualifications : Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university; or an associate degree (or 60 college credits) and at least two years of full-time criminal justice experience or two years full-time experience working with criminal justice involved individuals; or a high school diploma and six years of full-time experience in criminal justice or six years of full-time experience working with criminal justice involved individuals; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills to meet the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies (NAPSA) Accreditation Standards.
Necessary Special Requirement : Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is required in the performance of assigned duties.
Employees must work a least 30 hours per week to be eligible for insurance benefits.
Vacation leave, sick leave, and holidays are prorated for part time employees based upon the hours worked per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and on-call employees are not eligible for benefits.
