We're looking for a mechanically inclined Water Service Technician I to join the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) team. If you have experience making minor plumbing and mechanical repairs, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do :
- Perform water main service taps 1" and smaller in size.
- Inspect water service lines to verify correct material usage, conformance with local codes and ordinances, and quality assurance for the customers of the Lincoln Water System.
- Respond to routine, miscellaneous, and emergency water service calls requested by various sources.
- Installation, testing, and repair of water meters to ensure water meter's registration is consistent with standards established for metering accuracy.
- Assist in an active program of water meter replacements.
- Extensive contact with the public and in-home service calls.
- Perform tasks in excavations and confined spaces.
- Daily use of computer and other electronic equipment
Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. - 4 : 00 p.m. On-Call as scheduled.
Work Location : 2021 N 27th Street, Lincoln, NE
Desired Qualification : Bi-lingual skills desirable.
