What are the responsibilities and job description for the 40 hour/week Library Service Associate - Gere and South Branch Libraries position at City of Lincoln/Lancaster County?
Lincoln City Libraries currently has a full-time (40 hours per week) Library Service Associate position available primarily assigned to the unit of Gere Branch Library (2400 S 56th Street, Lincoln, NE 68506) and South Branch Library (2675 South Street, Lincoln, NE 68502). This position is eligible for insurance benefits.
Library Service Associates are front-line staff, providing excellent direct customer service to the public. Tasks include assisting with the checkout of materials, issuing library cards, providing technology assistance, recommending materials to customers, promoting library programs and online resources, assisting with the access and use of library resources, and processing payments on customer accounts. They may also be involved in presenting library programs.
Scheduled work hours will be assigned and could be during any of the following times: 8:30am to 8:15pm Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 6:15pm Friday and Saturday, and 11:00am to 8:15pm Sunday. While schedules will vary, this position will be required to work evenings and weekends. Evenings and weekends are assigned quarterly, but it is not unusual to work two evenings a week and two weekends a month. While all positions are assigned to a primary branch or service unit, staff may be assigned to work at any branch location. Hours may be assigned at multiple branches in a single workday.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent and six months of experience in providing customer service to the public; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.Salary : $21 - $26
