What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced Cost and Capital Accountant (Accountant II) position at City of Lincoln/Lancaster County?
We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Advanced Cost and Capital Accountant (Accountant II) to join the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) team—the largest department in the City of Lincoln. If you have a strong background in cost accounting, capital management, and financial analysis, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze financial data and prepare audited financial statements.
- Conduct internal and external audits.
- Assist in optimizing costs and capital investments.
- Prepare financial footnotes for LTU’s Annual Financial Reporting.
- Support the preparation of LTU’s annual operating and capital budgets.
- Develop and conduct audit plans for city programs.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting.
- Two years of experience in accounting procedures.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills may be considered.
