Advanced Cost and Capital Accountant

We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Advanced Cost and Capital Accountant (Accountant II) to join the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) team—the largest department in the City of Lincoln. If you have a strong background in cost accounting, capital management, and financial analysis, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze financial data and prepare audited financial statements.
• Conduct internal and external audits.
• Assist in optimizing costs and capital investments.
• Prepare financial footnotes for LTU’s Annual Financial Reporting.
• Support the preparation of LTU’s annual operating and capital budgets.
• Develop and conduct audit plans for city programs.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting.
• Two years of experience in accounting procedures.

Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills may be considered.
