The Community Health Services Division is seeking Public Health Nurses to join its home visitation team. These positions are in our Family Connects International Universal Home Visiting Program which aims to support to parents following the birth of a child.
The positions involve providing home visitation services working with a dynamic team of public health professionals and community partners. The home visitation program uses a nationally recognized, evidence-based model known as Family Connects International.
Responsibilities include completing designated assessments of mother, baby and the family’s health, identifying needs and strengths, providing health teaching and education, providing support and advocacy and providing referrals as needed during one to three home visits within the first three weeks following the birth of the baby.
It is beneficial to have experience working with post-partum women, infants, diverse populations, & families with multiple needs. Must be willing to advocate for a positive, and nurturing home environment.
Requires graduation from a baccalaureate degree nursing program accredited by the National League of Nursing, possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska, and possession of a valid driver’s license in the State of Nebraska. These are part time, temporary positions working up to 20 hours per week. 2 positions available. While uncommon, evening and weekend hours may possible. These positions are not eligible for benefits.
