Lincoln Water System is seeking to fill the role of Utility Equipment Operator I - Water Service Center Construction. This position requires skilled work in the operation of a variety of equipment related to the repair and maintenance of public utility facilities.
THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION IS SUBJECT TO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICIES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; On Call as scheduled.

Perform repair of water main breaks.
Check and maintain hydrants.
Locate, check, and maintain valves in the water distribution systems.
Responds to emergency water main breaks after hours.
Requires frequent contact with Water customers.Knowledge of the operating requirements of equipment used in the maintenance and repair of a water supply and distribution system.
Knowledge of applicable safety measures and precautions used in the operation of assigned equipment.
Ability to read and understand water construction plans.High school graduate or equivalent and at least 6 months experience in the operation of trucks and construction equipment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain within 60 days of appointment or equivalent.
