What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Mentor - SYEO (Part-Time) position at City of Little Rock?
JOB OBJECTIVE: Provides administrative and organizational support to the Career and Workforce Coordinator and Community Resources Manager in the development and operation of the Summer Youth Employment program.
Applicants must be between the ages of 18-25 by June 2, 2025.
This is not a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is not subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.The Lead Mentor position is the next step for returning mentors in their leadership development. The Lead Mentor position contains many of the same responsibilities as a New Student Mentor but provides the additional opportunity to guide and counsel New Student Mentors as they take on supervisory positions for the first time. Lead Mentors are expected to help facilitate meetings, assist in summer training, and meet with their mentor groups to advise and counsel them during summer employment. Lead Mentors are expected to support the transition of new mentors by providing opportunities for them to connect with their peers and acting as resource. Finally, Lead Mentors play an integrate role in supporting the Summer Youth Employment program.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18-25 by June 2, 2025. Applicants interested in being considered to fill Leader (Mentor) positions should meet the following requirements:
- Have a valid Class D (Non-Commercial) Driver's License before employment.
- Currently attending college AND in good standing (recent college graduates will be considered).
- Completed thirty (30) hours* of college (2nd year college student).
- Have previously worked for two (2) years or more in the Summer Youth Employment program.
- City of Little Rock resident (preferred but not required).
*Only hours completed at an institution accredited by one (1) of the six (6) regional accrediting associations recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education will be accepted. The institution's accreditation must have been in effect during the time period in which the hours were earned.
