These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of one (1) year of college coursework in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, or a related area, and one (1) year of experience in conducting aquatics programs, or a related area, and one (1) year of supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess certification as a Lifeguard from the American Red Cross before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, before employment, and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess certification as a Lifeguard Training Instructor (LTI) from the American Red Cross, within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess certification as a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) from the National Swimming Pool Foundation OR Aquatic Facility Operator (APO) from the National Recreation and Park Association before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess certification as a Water Aerobics Instructor from a Nationally Accredited Association before employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
