What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Data Center Administrator position at City of Little Rock?
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To serve as administrator of the City of Little Rock’s fiber, wired and wireless networks, virtual and physical data centers, storage area network systems (SANS), cloud-based infrastructure, and the back-up and recovery system; ensures the network and backup data centers are operating and functional in compliance with the City of Little Rock’s networking standards, all applicable security standards and Departmental policies and procedures.
For a full list of essential functions, click here.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSThese knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related area; four (4) years of professional level experience in the design, installation and maintenance of network architecture, or related area; four (4) years of experience in database or data center server configuration to include virtual storage/server installation, maintenance and configuration, or related area; three (3) years of experience installing and configuring routers or related area, and one (1) year of leadership experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
Must obtain level four (4) Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) security certification within six (6) months of employment and maintain the certification for the duration of employment in this position.
Must be available to work nights, holidays, and weekends and respond to emergency calls as required.
