What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Safety & Security Officer position at City of Little Rock?
- Performs security patrols of the interior and exterior of LRCVB facilities to guard against unlawful entry, theft or damage in compliance with all applicable guidelines, policies and procedures; investigates unusual situations.
- Provides crowd control at facility events; evacuates patrons from facility in emergency situations.
- Performs bag checks and pat downs of persons utilizing a magnetometer and/or hand-held metal detector wand to ensure prohibited items and/or other contraband do not enter LRCVB facilities.
- Maintains radio and telephone communication with other safety officers patrolling the facilities and grounds to ensure security coverage; responds to requests for services or assistance.
- Notifies other Safety Security Officers of problems and special event requirements, suspicious activities or unusual situations in or around facilities; prepares a daily shift activity report for supervisor.
- Checks windows and door locks to ensure security of facilities and offices.
- Notifies Little Rock Police Department of unauthorized persons or persons violating laws and monitors suspicious behavior until a Police Officer arrives at the facility.
- Answers questions and provides information to the general public regarding directions, facility information or related information; advises the general public of policy violations such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles.
- Signs delivery receipt for incoming and outgoing freight to acknowledge receipt of materials delivered to LRCVB facilities.
- Completes facility activity logs, incident and accident reports, and other related forms.
- Permits authorized personnel to enter property and monitors entrances and exits of facilities; observes departing personnel to protect against theft of LRCVB property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within applicable guidelines.
- Administers basic first aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), to injured individuals; telephones emergency personnel for individuals requiring medical attention; completes appropriate paperwork.
- Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with clients, attendees of events, seminar speakers, and the general public.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, within ninety (90) days of employment and maintain the certification for the duration of employment in this position.
Must be available to work evenings, holidays and weekends as required.
This position may require one or more of the following pre-employment screenings: drug and alcohol screening, or background investigation.
