Various Shifts, 3-15 hours per week
Part Time Temporary

Definition:
Ensure the security, health and safety of skating customers. Assist fallen/injured customers.
Effectively communicate with customers including relating skating tips, general rink information,
and rule enforcement. Assist other staff in maintaining rink facility and providing general
customer service.
Principal Duties:
* Courteously and promptly address customers with on-ice behavioral concerns.
* In the event of a patron injury, provide appropriate first aid and notify EMS if needed as
outlined in the EAP's.
* Observe existing ice conditions and perform minor repairs and/or communicate repair
needs to ice rink supervisory staff.
* Assist ice skating customers with instruction of basic skating techniques
* Assist the public through knowledgeable and tactful questioning, determine customers'
needs, answer questions and provide information for all the Departments activities and
programs.
* Attend and participate in staff meetings and/or trainings.
* Observe, follow and enforce established policies and procedures in the daily conduct of
the job.
* Plan and arrange work schedule and establish priorities to complete assigned work
within parameters assigned by the ice rink supervisory staff.
* Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City
Attributes.
Working Environment:
Working conditions are mostly performed outdoors, in a cold, wet environment. It can involve
exposure to hot and cold temperatures, high humidity and moderate to loud background noise
conditions. Work is performed independently and as a member of staff. Work requires frequent
use of: fingers and hands, walking, standing, hearing, speaking, problem solving, ice skating,
written communication and customer contact, handling multiple tasks with frequent
interruptions, custodial duties, slippery/uneven walking surfaces, working alone or working
closely with others. Work occasionally involves: light/moderate lifting and carrying (1-49 lbs.),
bending, stooping, and kneeling. Possible driving of City vehicle for errands (if 18 years of age or
older).
Qualifications:
Experience involving public contact work. Must be able to ice skate. Special
Qualifications:
CPR/AED & First Aid certification required
