This position is employed only seasonally and/or part-time during the year with the City of Longview. A variety of duties and tasks may be assigned. Refer to the internal department for a specific duties listing.

Essential Job Duties
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Early morning hours starting as early as 4am at certain times of the year to care and set-up the golf course prior to patrons arrival, such as mowing.
- Operates and maintains a variety of equipment, which includes performing routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Performs general course maintenance duties including maintaining the course’s visual appearance which may include trimming, mowing, and trash pickup; assisting in determining the course’s playability; and additional maintenance projects as requested.
- Performs manual labor activities which may include: gathering materials and equipment, moving equipment, collecting and disposing of trash, and/or performing other related activities.
- Performs general golf course maintenance work such as mowing, edging, shrub and planting area clean-up, rakes sand traps, performs litter control, maintains trees and shrubs, changes holes on golf greens, mows roughs, trap bunkers, tee banks, etc.
- Assists the Golf Maintenance Specialist and Golf Maintenance Manager as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver’s License, except for corrected vision.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- First Aid/CPR Certification or obtain within ninety (90) calendar days or as scheduled.
- Ability to work around the public and be courteous and professional at all times.
Ideal Candidate Information

- Knowledge of the use of parks maintenance and/or golf course equipment.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and the ability to identify hazards including electrical hazards.
- Ability and willingness to follow verbal and written instructions and to keep accurate work records.
- Ability to operate small hand and power tools and light equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with supervisors, coworkers and the public.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Ability and willingness to perform strenuous labor tasks under varying environmental conditions.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including, but not limited to, weekends and holidays.
- Ability and willingness to work safely and in compliance with city policies and standards.
- Communicate effectively both written and verbal in English.
- Deal courteously and tactfully with the public and other city employees.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
