What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer-In-Training position at City of Longview?
Performs municipal and transportation infrastructure designs and analysis; develops and reviews project planning documents; construction drawings, bid documents, and other various documents; assists with coordination for projects in the design, construction and bidding states; and performs other related duties as assigned.Provides customer service and assistance to engineers, developers, and the general public. Prepares and reviews construction drawings, exhibit drawings, reports, analyses, cost estimates, specifications, bid documents, construction timelines, and other required documents for City of Longview projects. Prepares and maintains files and documents for projects. Attends and participates in staff and project meetings. Performs tasks assigned by supervisor and coordinates with other staff as needed. Maintains public relations with citizens, consultants, contractors, and surveyors in private practice. Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License. Must possess an Engineer-in-Training in the State of Texas. Applicants certified in other states must obtain their State of Texas certification within six months from date of hire. Work is performed in a standard office environment. Subject to sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing step ladders, and lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
