About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team at the City of Los Banos, CA. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the city, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement financial plans and policies that align with the city's goals and objectives
Manage and oversee the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and other financial documents
Provide technical assistance and guidance to other departments on financial matters
Supervise and train staff to ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures
Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Perform risk management tasks, including insurance reviews and audits
Maintain financial records and files in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Stay up-to-date with changes in financial laws and regulations and apply this knowledge to improve financial operations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in financial accounting, including 3 years of supervisory experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred
Knowledge of budgeting procedures, financial reporting, and accounting software
Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
