City of Louisville has 14 athletic fields;

Between April and November we have 100 games and fields to prepare. During the Summer season we seek help from Seasonal Athletic Field Worker to assist staff with providing our community groomed and cared for athletic fields. Under general supervision of the Parks Supervisor and/or Athletic Field full-time staff, performs work in maintaining the City's athletic fields, and Parks & Recreation facilities. This position requires weekend work, particularly during summer months when athletic activities are scheduled on the City's fields. Performs other work as required.
This seasonal position will be offered up to 40 hours per week starting as early as April, and ending six months later in October. Shorter seasons and fewer weekly hours are available. Positions are also available to begin prior to the season working 29 hours per week which increases to 40 hours per week at the beginning of the season.

Examples of Duties
- Maintains athletic fields and related facilities.
- Operates tractors, pick up trucks with trailers, mowers, trimmers, UTVs and other equipment necessary in the maintenance of athletic fields.
- Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Prepares football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball fields for play.
- Performs routine maintenance to facilities, restrooms, backstops and fences.
General Qualifications
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess a valid Colorado driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Some mowing, athletic field maintenance, landscaping and/or irrigation experience preferred.
An offer of employment is contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check. Certain positions may also require, but are not limited to, driving record check, and a physical exam.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to utilize weed trimmer, large mowers, and miscellaneous hand tools.
- Knowledge of and experience with irrigation and herbicide application.
- Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures.
- Knowledge of general landscaping maintenance.
- Knowledge of athletic field surfaces, conditions, and playing field dimensions.
- Skill in safe operation of equipment in rough, uneven, or slippery ground conditions.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
Additional Information
Work Environment:
- Position works 90% outside and 10% in the office.
- Work schedule is 5 days a week to include some weekend work. Example schedule would be Tuesday – Saturday with Sundays and Mondays off
Position requires the ability to work outdoors, often in adverse weather conditions including rain, snow, heat and high winds, walking on uneven terrain for long periods of time. Perform strenuous hiking, standing, walking, sitting, digging, hammering, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling. Must be physically able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50-lbs.
