Summary Objective
The purpose of this position is to analyze, research, compile data and submit recommendations on classification, compensation, and compliance investigations.
This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Conducts job audits, interviews employees and supervisors, analyzes position questionnaires, reviews performance appraisals and obtains information to prepare recommendations regarding employee classification and compensation.
- Creates new and revises job descriptions to establish essential functions, duties, and minimum and special requirements.
- Calculates and prepares cost estimates, pay changes and statistical reports, completes salary surveys and researches and compiles information.
- Explains procedures to employees and prepares recommendations, correspondence and documents to implement classification changes.
- Provides the hiring unit with the appropriate documentation concerning a recommended accommodation for offers over the minimum or other actions.
- Conducts research on and analyzes both internal and external classifications and salary to make informed decisions about classification and compensation requests.
- Performs related work as assigned.
