The City of Louisville is hiring people to fill the position of Seasonal Golf Course Maintenance to maintain and mow the Coal Creek Golf Course. This position works up to 40 hours a week between early May and the end of October. Positions are currently available for our pre-season for up to 29 hours per week becoming 40 hours per week during the season. Shifts usually start as early as 5:00am and may require some holidays or weekends.
In this position, you will be under the general supervision of the Golf Superintendent and perform work in maintaining the city's golf course grounds by mowing, trimming, pruning, ground and irrigation system maintenance, and painting. This position will utilize a variety of related maintenance equipment such as weed trimmers, tractors, riding mowers, hand mowers and miscellaneous hand tools. Performs other work as required.

- Performs mowing, trimming and pruning,

- Previous golf course experience is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to utilize weed trimmer, tractors, mowers and miscellaneous hand tools.
- Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures.
- Ability and experience in the safe operation of tools, equipment and vehicles.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, citizens and contractors.
Must wear ear protection when operating loud equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, use hands and fingers to handle or feel tools or controls; read, speak and hear. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, stand, walk, climb, push/pull, bend, or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to noise levels that may cause distractions. Work is performed in an outdoor environment occasionally in inclement weather conditions including: heat, rain, wind and sun. May be exposed to moving mechanical parts; work near moving traffic; fumes or airborne particles; herbicides; and vibrations. Some weekend and holiday work may be required.
