Job Title: Assistant Worker’s Compensation Agent (1100-DH06, J#6218, 3920)

Reports To: City Solicitor, Workers Compensation Agent, Office Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary $60,456.92(min) to $70,903.07 (max) annual
Schedule: 35 hours per week
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist the City Solicitor, Assistant City Solicitors and Workers ' Compensation Agent in investigation of claims of injured employees, takes statements from witnesses, prepares legal documents for court cases, processing medical reimbursements, attendance at hearings before various courts and Division Industrial Accident Board, prepares report on office activities and other related clerical duties as required by the City Solicitor.

REQUIREMENTS
Ability to interpret medical terminology, legal documents, good communication skills, typing and computer skills, ability to interpret policies, rules and regulations of department, as well as MGL C.152 & C.41, CMR's, 3 to 5 yrs. in processing medical claims is desired but not required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
