Description
Lynchburg Water Resources is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst for data management and to maintain and provide support for the work management system. A successful candidate must be organized, perform multiple tasks under deadlines, have the ability to learn quickly and work independently. Candidate must be computer proficient in using software such as Microsoft office and work management software such as Lucity.
Essential Duties
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties necessary to deliver services to customers may be assigned.
Provides overall work management systems support for the department.
- Works with GIS in order to populate the work management system with respect to work orders, assets, and inventory.
- Creates complex work orders and reviews for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the management of utility line templates (hydrant maintenance, etc.).
- Assists department staff in processing work orders and resolve user problems with the work management system.
- Assess current processes and workflows and recommend improvements or implement strategies to optimize accurate and reliable data collection
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency by cleaning and organizing datasets, and performing regular audits of the datasets to determine where and why irregularities are occurring.
- Generates accurate and complete reports utilizing Lucity for reporting and billing purposes.
- Develops, documents and creates procedures for the efficient operation of the work management software.
- Build reports using data collected in Lucity.
- Work with divisions to expand the use of Lucity,
- Assists the department with data management needs including working with vendors of the development of PowerBI models by ensuring source data is complete and accurate.
- Works as a liaison between the IT Department, City Manager’s Office, and other departments on various data needs and requests.
- Train department staff that input data in Lucity.
- Use data platforms such as PowerBI and ArcGIS.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties to provide direct or indirect services to the citizens may be assigned.
- When unusual situations occur and/or the city manager declares a state of emergency, all city employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.- May perform temporary project oversight.
- Incumbent requires periodic direction.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in work related to field required.
- At least three years of related experience preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Possession of valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and acceptable driving record according to City criteria.
- Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment.
