Job Description
Do you like team sports and fun recreation? Do you love the outdoors and helping people young and old to have fun? Then, the Recreation Specialist may be the perfect job for you. This PART-TIME position works with the Recreation Coordinator and focuses on the design, development and execution of a variety of recreational activities for the City. This position helps coordinate the use of City facilities and equipment in support of such activities; helps maintain recreational areas (e.g., playing fields, splash pads). This position also deals frequently with the public, practicing diplomatic and tactful communication when explaining procedures, guidelines, and regulations. The Recreation Specialist loves the outdoors, playing sports and outside activities, and interacting with people of all ages.
The Part-Time Recreation Specialist works up to 20 hours/week and will work evenings and/or weekends. Flexible schedules available. This is a perfect job for someone who has a passion for sports and recreation and who is a college or trade school student, a stay-at home parent who can provide evening and weekend hours, or one who likes to have a variety of part-time jobs.
