The City of Macomb, Illinois is currently seeking applications to fill a position in the Water Division of the City of Macomb Public Works Department. The position to be filled is a Maintenance Worker. Once the correct license is obtained, advancement can be made to Operator I. If the applicant has a Class D Water Operator's license, they may be considered for the Operator I position.
The successful applicant shall have the ability to operate small equipment and hand tools, operate heavy equipment, as qualified, perform manual labor to complete assigned tasks, perform record keeping, and exercise safe work practices. These positions required frequent standing and walking, working in changing weather conditions, and occasionally lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
A Class B CDL license is required within 180 days of employment. Residency within McDonough County will be required, along with a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background investigation. High school diploma or GED is required.
The salary range for the position is $34,300.74-$51,114.82, depending on advancement. City of Macomb full-time benefits include group health and life insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, and personal leave; a deferred compensation plan option; cafeteria plan option; and IMRF retirement benefits.
