- including the operation of complex heavy motorized equipment; demonstrates a full understanding of all applicable policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties;
occasionally assists in the training of lower level Public Works positions; performs other related duties as required.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Water System Worker III is the advance journey level class in the Water System Operator series.
This classification is distinguished from the next lower level classification of Water System Worker II by the performance of the full range of duties working with minimal supervision and performing the more complex assignments in all areas.
Minimum QualificationsMust possess the equivalent of three (3) full-time work experience in the testing, cleaning, maintenance, inspection, repair, installation, replacement, construction, distribution and operation of complex heavy equipment.
High school diploma or equivalentValid Class C California driver's license required. Must obtain Class B California driver's license within one year of appointment.
Possession of a Grade II Water Distribution Operator CertificateAdditional InformationOnly those applicants who meet the qualification standards of this position by the application filing deadline will be allowed to participate in the examination process.
Examination scores determine standing on Civil Service eligibility lists. The City Manager, upon recommendation of the department head, will make the final selection and appointment from the established eligibility list.
The examination process may consist of the following parts : Application Package Review : Qualifying Only; Oral Interview : 100% Weight Value.
