General Description
The City of Madison is hiring Streets Attendants. The details of each type of Streets Attendant position are listed below. This is entry-level work performed in the Streets Division. This is seasonal work and no work hours are guaranteed.

Following the initial round of hiring, applicants who are not selected will remain active on the eligible list and may be referred as vacancies occur throughout the season.Seasonal employees that are in good standing may be asked to return the following year.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
Yardwaste Attendant
Employees perform heavy manual labor, greet the public, perform recordkeeping duties of surveys and weights of the yard waste collected at the site. Inform public of policies and guidelines regarding yard waste. Perform related work as assigned.
Anticipated work hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:15 am - 7:15 pm
Wednesday 2:45 pm - 7:15 pm (Olin Ave only)
Friday 7:15 am - 3:00 pm
Saturday, Sunday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Anticipated duration of work: Beginning of April through the end of November.
Equipment Washer
Employees will primarily be responsible for the daily cleaning of the Streets Division's fleet of Street Sweepers as well as other assigned tasks in and around the Streets Division Maintenance shops.
Anticipated work hours:
Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm, but hours may vary. Position could be expanded to 40 hours per week.
Anticipated duration of work: Beginning of April through the end of November.
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Minimum Qualifications
- All applicants will be considered for these positions. Depending on the number of applications, random selection may be used to determine which applicants will be invited to interview.

Special Requirements
Employees must have the ability to meet the transportation requirements of these positions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and must be capable of lifting 100 pounds maximum weight.
Ability to frequently bend, twist, squat, climb and reach for extended periods of time in variable weather conditions.
The payroll title for these positions is Street and Sewer Maintenance Worker 1 (Hourly).
Salary : $3 - $18
