**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Planning Director to lead our Planning Department in the City of Malibu, CA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the operations, programs, and activities of the department.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop, direct, and coordinate the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the Planning Department;
- Assume full management responsibility for all Planning Department programs, services, and activities, including current, advance, and environmental planning, permitting and code enforcement;
- Provide complex professional assistance to the City Manager, the City Council, the Planning Commission and others in areas of expertise;
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in urban planning, community development, business, or public administration;
- Eight years of increasingly responsible experience in planning, zoning, and related community development activities, including four years of management and administrative experience;
