Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a variety of camp activities such as sports, games, arts & crafts, swimming, team-building exercises, and special events.
- Foster an inclusive, fun, and supportive environment, promoting positive behavior, teamwork, and good sportsmanship among campers.
- Plan, organize, and execute daily camp schedules, ensuring smooth transitions between activities and camper engagement.
- Provide clear instructions and guidance for campers in activities, while encouraging creativity, participation, and personal growth.
- Supervise campers during all activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Handle camper behavior in a positive and constructive manner, utilizing appropriate techniques for conflict resolution and problem-solving.
- Work as part of a team with other staff members to ensure camp operations run smoothly.
- Assist with the preparation and clean-up of activities and camp spaces.
- Act as a role model, demonstrating leadership, responsibility, and a positive attitude.
- Maintain open communication with camp leadership, reporting any camper concerns or incidents in a timely manner.
- Support special camp events and field trips as needed.
- Assist with camper check-in/check-out procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in a recreational, educational, or camp setting is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a group of children.
- Knowledge of recreational activities, outdoor games, sports, and arts & crafts.
- Ability to create an engaging, positive, and inclusive environment for campers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High-energy, enthusiastic, and dependable with a passion for working with kids.
- Ability to handle camper behavior issues in a calm, constructive, and professional manner.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp).
Schedule:
- Part-time, seasonal position (dates vary depending on camp schedule).
- Flexibility to work Monday through Friday during camp hours (with possible evenings or weekends for special events).
