GRADE 15
PAY RANGE - $21.87 - $31.20/hr - plus a comprehensive benefits package
General Statement of Duties:
Operates equipment, systems and related facility features at the Water Treatment Plant; performs directly related work as required.
Examples of Essential Work:
- Observes variations in operating conditions and makes equipment and process related adjustments;
- Mixes and adjusts chemical doses;
- monitors computer generated information relating to water issues and takes appropriate actions based on that information;
- Notifies supervisor of any actions taken or makes recommendations for changes;
- Monitors automated process control system operating levels;
- Inspects all equipment and processing areas;
- Completes carbon regeneration duties;
- Performs calculations and records data according to established procedures;
- Interprets results and makes or recommends adjustments;
- Maintains log of plant operations;
- Operates pumps and other equipment to control flow and other processes;
- Develops safe and standard operation procedures for plant equipment activities;
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment to include assembly, disassembly, and lubrication of equipment using standard mechanics hand tools;
- Monitors outlying pump stations and machinery;
- Operates safety equipment such as self-contained breathing apparatus, dust masks and face shield, monitoring equipment and instrumentation and related equipment;
- Provides needed information and demonstrations concerning how to perform certain work tasks to new employees in the same or similar class of positions; and more..
Acceptable Experience and Training:
- Graduation from High School or possession of a GED; and
- Some experience in related operations, time within the position of WTP Operator trainee preferred; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Required Special Qualifications:
- Valid New Hampshire Drivers License;
- State of New Hampshire Grade II Operators License.
