Starting Wage: $12.00/hour Closing Date: Open Until Filled
Shift/Workdays and Hours: Variable (includes evenings and some weekends)

- Create lesson plans/curriculum.
- Assist, develop, and facilitate a safe, successful and ultimately fun dance class.
- Work with and teach young children dance techniques and styles.
- Communicate effectively, written and verbally, with students, parents and coworkers.
- Actively listen to customers and address any concerns or needs.
- Establish and maintain cooperative professional working relationships with others; individually and in a team environment.
- Provide excellent customer service and possess a service philosophy which reflects the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills & Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge of dance styles and techniques.
- One (1) year of college education, work/volunteer experience with school age children, courses in recreation, education, psychology, or sociology preferred.
Other Information
- Must pass a background check
- Applicants will be required to work evenings and some weekends.
- This is not a KPERS covered position.
- This is a seasonal position and hours will vary according to operational need.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Work will be performed at a variety of City locations and majority of work is performed inside a climate-controlled facility.
- Noise level and activity level will be varied.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time, dance, speak, climb stairs, push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
