The Seasonal Aquatics Program Coordinator is responsible for organizing, developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive aquatics programs for all community members. This candidate will assist with recruiting, selection, training, scheduling and supervision of staff and volunteers for aquatic programs sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Division. The Seasonal Aquatics Program Coordinator will keep current on the latest in program design and technique for aquatic programs. The Seasonal Aquatics Program Coordinator will work closely with and under the supervision of the Recreation Team Leader. The Seasonal Aquatics Program Coordinator’s primary focus will be to ensure safe and engaging operations of the Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center in the summer months and assist with aquatic/swim lesson programming in the offseason. The Seasonal Aquatics Program Coordinator should expect to work full-time during the aquatic center season and part-time during the off season. Working hours will be on an assigned schedule any day of the week including nights, weekends and holidays.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists in the recruiting, selecting, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of all Aquatic Center Staff and programming.Prepares in-service training programs for all Aquatic Center Staff prior to the opening of the facility in coordination with the Recreation Team LeaderAssures all staff maintains the proper certification for the position held. Coordinates overall operation, excluding mechanical aspects, of the Aquatic Center during open swim hours. Reconciles daily and nightly deposits. Responds to emergency situations with composure and follows established guidelines for the appropriate response. Creates and maintains accurate records of attendance, accident reports, passes sold, and maintain maintenance and state health records. Performs building security duties such as opening and closing of the facility. Conducts bi-weekly staff training and daily emergency procedure drills. Works closely with Building Maintenance in order to maintain all aspects of the facility. Performs daily inspections to ensure the facility is in a safe, operable condition. Trains staff on, distributes, and enforces- City of Manitowoc policies and procedures.Conducts water sample testing according to regulations and takes appropriate action when necessary.Coordinates summer swimming lessons with guidance from the Recreation Team Leader.Works with fitness instructors for needs of water fitness classes.Provide excellent customer service to Aquatic Center Patrons.Maintain positive working relationship with staff and other employees.
