MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Mass Transit Bus Cleaner is responsible for removing trash, sweeping, mopping, wiping handrails and seats, cleaning interior windows and mirrors, exterior mirrors, and applying disinfectant to the interior of the bus. This position works under the supervision of the Transit Administrative Supervisor. Excellent communication and continued customer service with all City of Mankato staff and visitors is expected. Mankato Transit operates less than 40 buses year-round with different tasks in accordance with the seasons.
Team members are employed by an approved third-party staffing agency.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Able to work a flexible schedule consisting of varying days and hours.

- Performs regular and deep cleaning of public transit buses.
- Performs light housekeeping duties such as mopping, sweeping, and empty garbage receptacles.
- Responds in a timely manner to all reports concerning damage to seats, seatbelts, safety equipment, ramps, items in Transit Garage and contact appropriate city staff.
- Ensures a safe, hazard free, and clean environment for bus drivers and transit customers.
- Adheres to first aid and emergency guidelines and procedures.
- Demonstrates the initiative and commitment to communication and teamwork to assure optimal customer service.
- All other appropriate duties as and when required by the Transit Administrative Supervisor.
- Performs physical and mental demands of the work environment requirements for this position.
- Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
- Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and citizen customers.
- Performs other related functions as assigned or apparent.
- Must successfully complete a background check.
- Must comply with organizational and departmental policies.
- Must comply with data practices policies and standards relative to not public data. Any access to not public data should be strictly limited to accessing the data that are necessary to fulfill the employment responsibility. While data are being accessed, incumbent should take reasonable measures to ensure the not public data are not accessed by individuals without a work reason. Once the work reason to access the data is reasonably finished the not public data must be properly stored according to city policy and the Minnesota Statutes.
