Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Able to work a flexible schedule with varying days and hours.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in the state of Minnesota.
Nature of Work:
Parking Maintenance and Custodial Worker is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of parking facilities, as well as other public spaces within the city. Working both independently and under the supervision of the Parking Facilities Technician and Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide critical custodial services while also maintaining parking structures and related areas.

Primary Essential Work Functions:
- Performs regular cleaning of the skyways, parking ramps, and public spaces.
- Performs minor maintenance on automated pay stations, gate arms, and other parking related equipment.
- Performs light housekeeping duties such as moping and sweep stairwells and empty garbage receptacles.
- Responds in a timely manner to all reports concerning damage to equipment, ramps, items in parking district and contact appropriate city staff.
- Ensures a safe, hazard free, and clean parking environment in ramps and throughout the district.
- Assists in patio washing within the downtown entertainment district.
- Monitors ice and snow conditions in all the downtown ramps and sidewalks.
- Enthusiastically provides customer service to guests while performing a multitude of diverse tasks.
- Adheres to first aid and emergency guidelines and procedures.
- Assists in performing general maintenance throughout the district.
- Demonstrates the initiative and commitment to communication and teamwork to assure optimal guest service.
- Acts as an ambassador for downtown visitors by providing friendly customer service and directions.
- All other appropriate duties as and when required by the Parking Facilities Technician or Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
Other Work Functions:
- Performs physical and mental demands and work environment requirements for this position.
- Attendance during regularly scheduled work hours and outside regular hours as necessary.
- Effective and respectful communication and interactions with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and community customers.

- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive in the state of Minnesota.
- Must comply with organizational and departmental policies.
- Must comply with data practices policies and standards relative to not public data. Any access to not public data should be strictly limited to accessing the data that are necessary to fulfill the employment responsibility. While data are being accessed, incumbent should take reasonable measures to ensure the not public data are not accessed by individuals without a work reason. Once the work reason to access the data is reasonably finished the not public data must be properly stored according to city policy and the Minnesota Statutes.

The Parking Maintenance and Custodial Worker is a part time job. Days will vary and will include days, evenings and weekends according to events in the downtown district.
