The City of Maple Grove is seeking summer seasonals with all levels of experience to work a variety of maintenance tasks throughout the parks, streets, central equipment, facilities and utilities divisions in the Public Works Department. This is a great opportunity to develop essential skills, gain work experience, and develop lasting relationships. As a summer seasonal, you will get to do hands-on work while helping in the upkeep and development of the City of Maple Grove. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful summer weather and you can invite friends to apply with you and spend your summers working with familiar faces! No experience is required as all training will be provided, returning seasonals also receive an annual increase!

Responsibilities
Parks Division:
Examples of duties and functions working in the parks division.
- Trails and grounds maintenance
- Garden maintenance
- Forestry
- Garbage removal

Park maintenance
- Mowing
- Weed whipping
- Synthetic Turf maintenance
- Graffiti removal
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Streets Division:
Examples of duties and functions working in the streets division.
- Asphalt/blacktop patching
- Curb and concrete work
- Weeding
- Edging
- Shoveling
- Raking
- Mowing
- Blvd maintenance
- Assist fellow employees in parks, buildings, and right-of-way repair tasks.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Utilities Division:
Examples of duties and functions working in the utilities division.
- Maintains water, sewer, and storm sewer maintenance.
- Hydrant painting
- Weeding
- Mowing
- GIS
- Repair curb stops and gate valves.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Facilities Division:
- Weed control at city-owned buildings

- Landscaping
- Trash removal

Shrubs and tree pruning at city sites
- General maintenance, repair, and cleaning of equipment and vehicles
- Maintain shop floors, tools, and shop equipment
- Operation of vehicles, motorized equipment, and shop equipment
- Pick up and deliver parts from vendors
Ability to:
- Perform physical labor in all types of weather conditions
- Lift up to 25lbs individually
- Interact with the public professionally
- Report on time for scheduled shifts
- Follow work directions and expectations
Qualifications
Need to have:
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
- Ability to lift 25lbs
