POSITION TITLE: Police Sergeant
Starting Wage: Dependent on Qualifications
The City of Marceline is accepting applications for a full-time police sergeant. This position is a highly responsible administrative and supervisory position in police work involving the directing of uniformed personnel as well as criminal investigation and administrative personnel. This position will serve as the evening supervisor for the police department.
Applicants must be twenty-one (21) years of age, possess a valid Missouri P.O.S.T. license and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants should have knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, the democratic political process, common safety rules, regulations, modern procedures and practices to include effective restraint techniques, basic first aid and CPR. Desired applicant will have strong communication, listening, public relations, and organizational skills. Preferred candidate will reside within a thirty-five (35) mile radius of the City or be willing to relocate within six months of hire.
