SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED
General supervision is received from the Recreation Director, Recreation Leader or Recreation Assistant I and II. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, and turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in keeping records and preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written reports and work-related documents and acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. The need to lift, drag, and push files, paper, and equipment weighing 25 pounds or more is also required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The incumbent may be exposed to fumes, dust, and air contaminants. In addition, depending on the area of assignment, incumbents may be exposed to chemicals, electrical and mechanical hazards, and loud noise. Additionally, the incumbent in this outdoor position works in all weather conditions, including wet, hot, and cold. Some of these requirements may be accommodated for otherwise qualified individuals requiring and requesting such accommodations.

- Responsible for on-site management of a recreation center facility.
- Implements program activities by conducting, guiding and training program participants.
- Registers participant for classes.
- Prepares and distributes flyers, pamphlets and other general promotional material.
- Prepares monthly activity calendars and reports as required.
- Performs duties in accordance with City and departmental policies.
- Perform related work as required.
Knowledges of:
- The philosophy, principles, practices and techniques of modem recreation administration.
Ability to:
- Plan and organize group and individual recreational programs and activities.
- Involve groups and individuals in program participation.
- Understand and communicate with supervisor.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship
- Deal tactfully courteously with the public and other city employees
- Stand, bend, sit, kneel, reach and move about safely in city business office work locations.
- Pick-up, manipulates, move, raise and lower small business office equipment, materials and supplies, and work products weighing 30 lb. or less; and to use approved stepping stools/ladders to reach heights between 6'0" and 7' 6".
- Read handwritten, typed or machine generated text, graphical and statistical material without aides other than eyeglasses and, or contact lenses.
- Absorb data, learn and apply procedures required to perform the full range of analytic tasks required by typical duties of the class.
