The City of Martin Water Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for participating in the operations of the water treatment plant and related facilities and systems.
*Applicant must possess Tennessee Water Treatment Grade II Certificate or higher*
The Water Treatment Plant Operator works with a level of proficiency to monitor conditions and to make required changes in operations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and maximize plant efficiency, perform various maintenance functions essential to the upkeep of grounds, equipment, and building, accurately record all operational parameters to document proper procedures and regulatory compliance, and evaluates changing conditions and initiate alternative treatment procedures to ensure continued effective plant operations.
Candidate must possess a valid drivers license and a Tennessee Water Treatment Certificate Grade II or higher.
Knowledge Requirements:
Knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment; ability to perform skilled technical work in operation and maintenance of water treatment plant; knowledge of environmental and public health regulations governing water treatment; skills in analyzing problems and identifying solutions, reporting, mathematical calculations, and oral and written communication.
The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee will frequently lift light and occasionally heavy objects, climb ladders, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
Work schedule is 40 hours a week Monday - Friday with rotating on call schedules to include holidays and weekends.
