The City of Martin Fire/Rescue/EMS is accepting applications for the position of Entry Level Firefighter.

The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, goal-oriented individual possessing a desire to make a difference in the lives of the community served.
The successful candidate will have a work schedule 24 hours on and 48 hours off.
Minimum Requirements Are:
1. Be at least 18 years of age.
2. Be a citizen of the United States of America.
3. Have a High School Diploma or proof of G.E.D.
4. Possession of a valid Tennessee Driver's License.
5. Must Pass a Written Exam
6. Must Pass a Physical Ability Test.
7. Pass an Oral Interview.
Requirements Upon Conditional Offer of Employment:
1. Pass a NFPA Medical Physical Examination.
2. Pass a Psychological Evaluation.
3. Pass a Drug Screening Test.
4. Pass a background investigation consisting of local, state, and national criminal record check, financial, medical, military, and educational records check.
5. Must become IFSAC Firefighter II certified within Probationary Period.
6. Must become a Certified State of Tennessee Medical Responder at first available class provided by the department.
Successful candidate will have an initial probationary period of 24 months.
Benefit package includes Health, Dental, Life, and Vision Insurance. The City of Martin is part of the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) with the adoption of the Public Safety Clause. Uniforms, licensure renewal, and educational opportunities are provided by the department.
Starting Salary $42,098* annually (*Included in salary are 12 paid holidays). Salary increase for IFSAC or Pro-Board Firefighter II Certification, Medical Responder, EMT-B, and AEMT. Overtime shifts are available.
